Nantong University (NTU, 南通大学) is a comprehensive provincial key university co-constructed by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Transport. Founded in 1912 by modern Chinese industrialist and educator Zhang Jian as the Private Nantong Medical School and Nantong Textile School, NTU merged with Nantong Institute of Technology and Nantong Teachers College in 2004.
