Nanchang University (NCU, 南昌大学) is the premier national "Project 211" and "Double First-Class" comprehensive university in Jiangxi Province, co-constructed by the Ministry of Education and the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government. Tracing its roots to Jiangxi Public Medical College founded in 1921 and National Chung Cheng University founded in 1940, it unified Jiangxi University and Jiangxi Industrial University in 1993, later merging with Jiangxi Medical College in 2005.
Spanning over 4,300 mu with Qianhu campus as its flagship, NCU hosts 5 directly affiliated hospitals and over 54,000 full-time students. Food Science & Engineering is a national Double First-Class discipline ranking world top 3 in the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (ARWU).
