Guizhou University (GZU, 贵州大学) is the sole national "Project 211" and "Double First-Class" university in Guizhou Province, co-constructed by the Ministry of Education and the Guizhou Provincial People's Government. Tracing its foundation to 1902 as Guizhou University Hall (inscribed by Chairman Mao Zedong in 1951), GZU has celebrated more than 120 years of academic distinction in Southwest China.
Covering 4,646 mu across its lush Huaxi Campus in Guiyang, GZU’s Plant Protection discipline is designated as a national Double First-Class discipline, world-renowned for green pesticide development and crop disease control. 7 disciplines rank in the global top 1% of ESI (Engineering in the top 3‰).
