Shandong Normal University (SDNU, 山东师范大学) is a provincial key comprehensive normal university co-constructed by the Ministry of Education and the Shandong Provincial People's Government. Tracing its roots to the Normal Hall of Imperial Shandong University founded in 1902 and formally consolidated in 1950 (incorporating departments from historic Cheeloo University), it is the earliest undergraduate university founded in Shandong after the birth of New China.
