MOE ACCREDITED CLINICAL MEDICINE

English-Taught Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS, 2026/2027)

The authoritative guide to the 44 medical institutions officially approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (MOE) to deliver undergraduate medical education in English for international students.

Editorial Verification: Verified by CSCA Global Academic Standards Desk.
Last Updated: 2026-10-10

Key Admissions Facts & Quotas

• Only 44 universities hold official MOE accreditation to offer English-taught MBBS programs. Degrees awarded by non-compliant institutions are ineligible for international licensing exams (such as USMLE, PLAB, PMDC, and AMC).
• Per official MOE regulations, the total annual international student intake across all 44 approved universities is strictly capped at 3,048 seats.
• Starting from 2026, over 70% of listed medical universities have adopted CSCA Physics and Chemistry scores as primary academic screening criteria for MBBS applicants.
• Average annual tuition fees range from 30,000 to 50,000 RMB (approximately 4,200 to 7,000 USD), making China one of the world's most cost-effective medical study destinations.

Global Medical Recognition

Graduates from approved medical institutions are globally recognized by authorities including the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS), the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), the General Medical Council (GMC), and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

6-Year Curriculum Structure

The English-taught MBBS program spans 6 years: 1 year of foundational sciences and basic medical Chinese, 4 years of pre-clinical and clinical theory alongside bedside training, and 1 year of mandatory hospital clinical rotation (internship).
