Guizhou Minzu University (GZMU, 贵州民族大学) was established in May 1951 as one of the earliest higher ethnic institutions founded in the People's Republic of China. Jointly developed by the National Ethnic Affairs Commission and the Guizhou Provincial People's Government, GZMU is situated in the national-level ecological Guian New Area and Huaxi District in Guiyang.
Spanning 2,700 mu with over 22,000 full-time students, GZMU has graduated over 170,000 professionals.
