China Conservatory of Music (CCM, 中国音乐学院) was founded in 1964 under the direct concern of Premier Zhou Enlai, established under the national "Double First-Class" initiative as the global headquarters of the Global Music Education League. Known universally as the "Cradle of Chinese Musicians" and the "Hall of Chinese Music," CCM is uniquely dedicated to the preservation, development, and innovation of classical and national Chinese musical traditions.
Located in Chaoyang District near Beijing's Olympic Green, CCM offers doctoral and postdoctoral programs in Music and Dance Studies. The conservatory comprises departments in Chinese Traditional Instruments, Vocal Performance & Opera, Composition, Conducting, and Musicology. CCM has trained China's most celebrated vocalists and instrumentalists and leads nationwide in Chinese national orchestral orchestration.
