How to Setup Dual-Camera Room & Environment for Online Proctored Exam
Over 15% of initial candidate disqualifications occur due to improper secondary camera angles or insufficient desk lighting. Review the exact room geometry requirements.
Camera 1: Primary Frontal Webcam
Placement: Built-in laptop camera or external USB webcam placed on top of monitor.
Field of View: Must clearly show your face, eyes, ears (no headphones/earbuds allowed), and desktop keyboard surface.
Invigilation Verification: AI eye-tracking checks for pupil deviations away from the active browser window.
Camera 2: Secondary Lateral Smartphone Camera
Placement: Positioned approximately 1.5 meters behind your desk, angled at 45 degrees.
Field of View: Must capture your full upper torso, both hands, computer monitor screen, physical scratch paper, and room door.
Invigilation Verification: Human remote invigilators monitor this live video feed to verify no unauthorized individuals or secondary screens are present.
Mandatory Room Environment Rules
- Lighting: Do not sit with a bright window directly behind you (backlighting). Face a well-lit wall or desk lamp.
- Acoustics: You must be in a private, closed room. No background music, televisions, or third parties entering the testing zone.
- Desk Surface: Only testing computer, mouse, mousepad, two blank scratch paper sheets, pen, and a transparent water bottle without labels are permitted.
- Power & Network: Connect your laptop to AC power. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a charger so it does not power off mid-exam.
